Blogging so far

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, hope you had a good pancake day and everything else I've missed since my last post... on the 13th December 2015!!!

Wow time goes so fast, it really doesn't feel that long since I've last posted. If you couldn't tell I thought I would switch up my blog's look for a fresh start to the year! It's 2016 and there are lots of posts flying around the internet about how you're all probably faltering on your New Year's resolutions etc etc. Here's my opinion on that (well someone else's words that I like)...
To put it simply, failure to me is not a word! You can never fail at something. Even if you have a New Years resolution that you never go back to it is something that you tried and that is sometimes all you need! Instead of bringing you lots of reasons why you should be getting back on your resolution wagon and how to do it I'm going to tell you that all you need is faith in yourself and to know that you can do whatever you wish to achieve.

I taught myself this lesson recently when I was telling myself that I had failed at blogging because I hadn't posted in a while. I felt ashamed of starting this whole thing up and then not seeing it through whilst getting everyone I knew excited about it! But I realised I was looking at it the wrong way... I was too focused on the here and now and not seeing results NOW when I should have been looking at all the things I had achieved since starting my blog back in September.

So my first post of 2016 is going to be setting an example for everyone reading this who may think they're failing in their lives right now. Remind yourself of everything you've achieved and everything you've felt in the process. So if you're interested in staying on to read about my blogging experience so far here it is!

When I first started blogging I was so optimistic. "I'm going to post every week on this day". " My posts are going to be so focused and short". "They're always going to be well thought out and structured and literary gold".
Reality. I kept up my regular blogging habit for about 4 weeks. If you want to go back to some of my first posts you'll realise it takes a solid 20 minutes to read them - grab yourself a cup of coffee and relax you'll be there for a while. And in all honesty, in a bid to reach my 'weekly Wednesday deadline' some of my posts had been thought up of half hour before posting with an immense number of spelling and grammar mistakes that I am not proud of...
But! I can look at all those things now and laugh about it. Because I learnt that blogging is so much tougher than it looks especially when you're running your life outside of blogging! Now I'm not so hard on myself. I don't give myself deadlines and random blog posts to write last minute for the sake of it. I want my blog to be simple but effective. I have some ideas on how to do that this year but I don't want to rush this time I want it to be something I really enjoy not a hassle I have to fit in around my life outside of blogging!

I have learnt so much. In terms of techy stuff I really have learnt a lot but I definitely still have a while to go! But mostly I've learnt so much about what I like and don't like, who I am as a person, how to deal with people, what I want to achieve in life and so much more! Not to mention the benefit my extensive research on happiness, positivity, mindfulness, inspiring quotes, books and so on has done for me. I won't bore you of all those things just yet!

Blogging has been stressful, fun, inspiring eye opening and so many other things all in one! But I really do enjoy it. When I'm writing and looking into things I can share with my readers about how to be more positive and happy in their everyday lives it makes me feel happy. And I've accomplished a lot that I'm proud of and I'm hoping to continue to do so. Blogging is something that takes my mind off all the other stresses in my life and if that becomes my main reason for blogging then it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world!

I hope you've enjoyed reading my first post of 2016 and hopefully you'll be seeing more soon! I hope this post has inspired you to take that thing you're 'failing' at and see it in terms of what you've learnt and achieved through doing it to make you realise just how successful you have been!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend lovely readers!
